Some Twenty Organizations Signed the Pact of Marseille

The NANBO wishes to sincerely thank the watershed organizations, the local and international partners, and the speakers who participated in the International Symposium on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) on May 23, 2012.

The event, which was organized within the scope of the First meeting on water of the Regroupement des organismes de bassins versants du Québec, mobilized some one hundred participants to discuss two key topics: The IWRM in the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River Basin and The IWRM worldwide.

At the end of the day, some twenty watershed organizations from Quebec, Ontario, the United States and Mexico signed the World Pact for Better Basin Management, which was initiated by the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO) during the 6th World Water Forum in March 2012.

We wish to give special thanks to the organizations that participated in the signing ceremony. North America counts the highest number of signatories to the World Pact for Better Basin Management.

Representatives of the following organizations have previously signed the World Pact for Better Basin Management at the official launch ceremony in Marseille, on March 16, 2012, at the 6th World Water Forum:
